About Me

Hi, I'm Scott. I'm a chemical engineer with 9 years in chemical manufacturing, spanning operations, carbon neutrality and now applied AI. Most of that time has been on the plant floor, which is where I picked up the problems I now try to solve with AI.

I started using LLMs heavily when ChatGPT launched in late 2022. Within a few weeks I stopped thinking about what AI could do for my writing and started wondering if it could help solve problems that all manufacturing engineers face: troubleshooting, process optimization, and data analysis.

It took about 2 years and a ton of experimentation to get a real answer, and that answer was yes, thanks to agentic AI applications like Claude Code. I have very little coding experience, but tools like Claude Code have lowered the bar far enough that anyone who can articulate their ideas clearly in plain English can build valuable AI solutions. Pair that with some domain experience and you can build things a software team never could.

Now my entire day job is figuring out how to apply AI to chemical plant problems, and a good part of my free time goes into building agentic solutions, open-sourcing them on GitHub, and showing how they work on YouTube and LinkedIn. The industry moves faster when people build and share what they learn instead of just sharing opinions.
